Approved Owner Process

As good dog owners, it is your responsibility to provide the love, care and attention necessary to make sure your pets are happy, safe and healthy. Labradors require a lot of exercise and also companionship. We may question potential puppy owners as to the amount of time they can give their puppy, especially in their first 12 months, the puppys housing facilities and your home lawn exercise facilities or access to other exercise areas.

We also request that you attend an approved puppy school with your puppy and at minimum a level one Kennel club training programme. This is especially requested if you are a first time puppy owner.

Puppies will have endorsements on their registration that they cannot be breed from without consent from ourselves. Before consent can be given your puppy must have Hip/Elbow and eye exams. Subject to the results of those tests and the written acknowledgement that breeding will follow the DogsNZ rules the “not to be bred from” endorsement can be removed.

You will take home with your puppy their vet book which will have noted their first vaccinations, worming and flea treatments. It is expected these vaccinations and treatments will continue throughout the puppy’s life.
